The artist is my wife - a distinguished and awarded Jewelry Designer & Fine Artist. For almost 50 years, she is known for her VERY DETAILED work. “SEA MAID'S TREASURE” – One of A Kind (OOAK) Artist’s Assemblage Necklace Jewelry of freshwater pearls, cast pewter, silver filled wire, crystal roundels, vintage glass beads. 25 ¾” long including the clasp. The pendant is 2-1/4”. A cast pewter mermaid hangs as a focal point on this lovely necklace flanked by her treasure of choice chubby creamy freshwater pearls. there are pale green vintage glass fish whose one side is brushed with a translucent aurora borealis finish; the other glass fish is pale blue with across-hatch pattern in gold. Each of the glass fish 'carries' a freshwater pearl with its tail. A lovely array of sea colors accented with crystal set gun metal finish metal beads and crystal roundels wire-wrapped in sterling silver filled wire. It is finished off with a delightful fish clasp and hook--also in cast pewter. Artist’s Note: “I may create jewelry in this genre from time to time, but will never be an exact replica since most of my components are one of a kind and are no longer available or really hard to come by. If possible, I try to use original vintage brass findings, stamping and such since the reproductions currently available are quite flimsy and details have been sacrificed due to mass production. I also use found items in glass, wood, porcelain, ceramic and some metals, items of jewelry--either in sterling silver or other metals--and use them into my creations.” This precious one-of-a-kind necklace has never been worn, very unique and much treasured, in excellent-great condition, that has been kept in my home (smoke-free and pet-free).
